Falmouth Yachtsmen Varsity Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Poland

​An early lead helped Falmouth defeat Poland 11-1 on Friday. Falmouth scored on a double by Colin Coyne and a single by Max Fortier in the first inning.

The Yachtsmen secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Reece Armitage, a walk , and a error.

Falmouth captured the lead in the first inning. With zero outs in the first inning Colin Coyne drove in one run when he doubled.

Armitage earned the win for Falmouth. He tossed four and a third innings, surrendering one run, two hits, and striking out seven. Robbie Armitage recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Falmouth. Gawain Tibbetts took the loss for Poland. He went two innings, surrendering four runs, eight hits, and walking one.

Falmouth collected 13 hits. Griff Aube, Coyne, Armitage, and Armitage each collected multiple hits for the Yachtsmen. Max Fortier, Aube, and Armitage each drove in two runs to lead Falmouth.
