MaxPreps and the United States Marines Corps have teamed up to honor some of America’s most deserving student-athletes with the High School Athlete of the Month Award. This title is given to any athletes that any American community would be proud to call its  own. The program is designed to honor athletes who display ideals that the Marines stand for like bravery, dedication, perseverance, personal sacrifice for others and being a positive influence in one’s community. It’s not about stats. It’s about the bigger picture, or a single moment that puts individual ideals ahead of the game. One male and one female athlete are named each month, from September to June. Any sport or grade is eligible, as long as the athlete is currently in high school. Each month the winners will receive a featured article and video on MaxPreps and CBSSports.
